To promote findability of cohort data, SPHN launches an additional call for letters of intent for Swiss cohort studies interested in join the Maelstrom metadata catalogue.
The catalogue, developed and curated by Maelstrom Research, is already serving the dissemination of more than 310 individual studies and 23 international networks covering a wide array of research domains. Researchers from all over the world are thus provided with an open platform that foster data reuse and promote national and international research collaborations.
Since the beginning of 2021, SPHN has been working in close collaboration with Maelstrom Research to build the SPHN Cohort Consortium. The integration of 10 large Swiss cohorts into the catalogue is ongoing, already allowing researchers to browse their complete study descriptions and build queries across more than 60’000 annotated variables.
Based on the positive feedback from the cohorts involved and the interest of the community, SPHN decided to launch an additional call for letters of intent to join the SPHN Cohort Consortium. All cohorts interested in bringing their metadata to an internationally renowned catalogue are invited to send their application by the 31 May 2022.
