The SPHN Ecosystem Towards FAIR Data

6 October 2021

SPHN announces the comprehensive release of the SPHN FAIR Data Ecosystem, summarized in our recent preprint*.

A flexible graph-based schema for data representation is at the core of the SPHN interoperability strategy. It allows research projects to semantically annotate and link existing data in a FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) way. To support researchers and data providers to use the SPHN semantic interoperability framework, the Personalized Health Informatics group of SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics has developed a decentralized infrastructure enabling collaborative research by making the meaning of health-related data understandable to both, humans and machines.

The SPHN FAIR Data Ecosystem includes

  • SPHN Dataset
  • SPHN RDF Schema
  • DCC Terminology Service
  • Template RDF Schema
  • Quality Assurance Framework
  • Documentation and Training
