In a two day workshop with experts from the Charité, Berlin, and our FAIR data team we explored possibilities to align SPHN concepts with the FHIR standard.
SPHN just started a new collaboration with our colleagues from the Charité hospital in Berlin, SPHN aims to align SPHN and FHIR, exploring how we can develop SPHN-specific FHIR profiles for clinical routine data within the SPHN Semantic Interoperability Framework.
In a two day workshop with our colleagues from the Charité, we laid the groundwork for this collaboration. This is an important step forward in improving data exchange and advancing research in personalized healthcare and the alignment with clinical care.
Take-home message: FHIR is a highly flexible language, but it comes with a steep learning curve. Building effective profiles for complex healthcare data can’t be accomplished in just two days. We are looking forward to our continued work together, stay tuned for the SPHN FHIR profiles!
A big thank you to everyone who brought their energy and ideas to the table. Collaborating with such passionate and knowledgeable people is always inspiring.
