Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS)
The Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) is mandated by the Swiss Confederation to implement the Swiss Personalized Health Network.

SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics
SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics plays a key role in the implementation of the Swiss Personalized Health Network Initiative (SPHN). Mandated by the Swiss Government, SIB - through the Personalized Health Informatics Group (PHI - builds an infrastructure backbone, providing essential bioinformatics and data science expertise.
Personalized Health and Related Technologies (PHRT)
In Switzerland, a number of programs are focused on personalized medicine. These include the strategic focus area PHRT of the ETH Domain and the SPHN initiative (Swiss Personalized Health Network) of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences. The two programs complement each other and coordinate their activities.
Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)
Based on a government mandate, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) supports scientific research in all academic disciplines, from history to medicine and the engineering sciences. At the end of 2018, the SNSF was funding 6500 projects involving 16,300 researchers, which makes it the leading Swiss institution for promoting scientific research.
Swiss Biobanking Platform (SBP)
SBP is the national coordination platform for human and non-human biobanks. It aims to respond to the increasing requests from biomedical researchers regarding quality and the interconnectedness of biobanks for research purposes.
Swiss Clinical Trial Organization (SCTO)
SCTO is the central cooperation platform for patient-oriented clinical research in Switzerland. Its primary objective is, in the interests of society, to attractively and competitively position Swiss clinical research in the international competition with respect to innovation and quality.
Santé Personalisée & Societé
The "Personalized Health & Society" initiative (SantéPerSo) is based on research projects and an information and exchange platform. It aims to nurture and stimulate debate on the health issues of tomorrow.
Precision Medicine
Definitions and concrete examples, illustrations and videos to improve understanding of the new approaches and issues associated with precision medicine, with a focus on precision oncology.
SCNAT - Personalized Health
Thanks to developments in life sciences and biomedicine, more and better data are being collected, be it genetic information or clinical data.
These large amounts of data are used in personalized health. Personalized health thus aims for optimal medical care based on collected human data.
Science et Cité
The nationally active foundation Science et Cité fosters the dialog between science and society. It is independent legally and in terms of content.
Science et Cité contributes to the appreciation and understanding of all sciences and addresses their opportunities and limits. It also reports back to the scientists the reaction of the population in particular on value issues.
Health 2030
Health 2030 is a multicentric and multidisciplinary initiative aimed at exploring and exploiting the potential of new technologies in the fields of health and personalized medicine.
This initiative brings together the Universities and University Hospitals of Bern, Geneva and Lausanne as well as the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne.
SCNAT - Forum for Genetic Research
The Swiss Forum for Genetic Research facilitates a broad and neutral discourse about gene technology. It is concerned with the transmission of factual information about genetic research. The forum functions as an early detection center for developments in the field that might prove to be of great significance for society, actively promoting the dialogue between society, politics, administration and science.
Personalized Health Basel (PHB)
PHB is a joint project organization of the University of Basel, University Hospital Basel, and University Children’s Hospital Basel which aims to develop and promote Personalized Health for the benefit of patients, research and society by harmonizing existing processes, building new information technology (IT) and biobanking infrastructures, and by forming national and international research collaborations. PHB is closely collaborating with the University Hospital Zurich, ETH Zurich and University of Zurich aligning PH initiatives and forming a strong local research cluster of scientific excellence (Personalized Health Alliance Basel-Zurich).
Mon Génome & Moi
Mon Génome & Moi is an information tool designed to present the challenges related to genome sequencing.
This website, supported by the Leenaards Foundation, is a project of the "Santé Personnalisée & Société" initiative. It promotes exchange and information between citizens, researchers and healthcare professionals around challenges raised by the medicine of the future.
International Alignment
Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH)
In 2019, SPHN was selected as a Driver Project, joining an international group of 22 leading initiatives in the field of genomics and personalized health, coordinated by the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH).
International Consortium for Personalised Medicine
SPHN represents SAMS in the Executive Committee of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed).
European Patients' Academy (EUPATI)
Involving patients in research can hugely benefit the medicines development process: by bringing in their priorities and perspectives, patients can contribute to developing better treatments for them and others. Greater patient involvement in R&D will boost the efficacy and safety of new treatments and increase public support for medical research.
